Bronze sword workshop 10am - 4pm
*MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS 6*
The Ewart park sword is the classic leaf blade from the late Bronze Age.
During workshop you will spend the day with master swords smith Neil Burridge to learn how this type of sword developed from earlier blades to become the dominant sword form from 1000BC.
Using a charcoal fuelled furnace and leather bellows, you will melt tin and copper before pouring the resulting molten bronze and casting your own replica sword into your prepared moulds.
You will finish the day cleaning your casting and looking at different handle ideas.
Sword handle kits will be provided at a small cost extra for you to purchase on the day or you can decide to make your own.
