Step back in time and discover one of humanity's oldest and most versatile crafts in our net making workshop. Join experimental archaelogist Vanessa Bunton to discover the evolution, techniques and cultural significance of net making through time.
Your day will include a brief historical overview of net making from prehistoric fibre technologies to the 19th Century. You will then explore traditional materials, tools and methods that were used throughout different eras. After this it is time to get practical as you learn a selection of historically authentic knots and techniques before crafting your own net to take home.
