*MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS 6*
During this enjoyable and instructional day attendees will get to grips with the feel and properties of clay by learning a range of basic methods of construction. In this small group two knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutors (Jo Trott and Flo Brookes) will both demonstrate and guide students who will learn transferable skills which can easily be applied to many projects.
In the morning, pinch pots will be transformed into a wide range of practical or whimsical vessels by adding coils and sculptural shapes.
Following a lunch break, prepared slabs will be used to construct clay boxes with a fitted lid. After a refreshments break, these boxes will be enhanced with clay embellishments. We will offer plenty of ideas and examples or students are welcome to come with their own ideas for decorating their boxes.
You will be encouraged to work at your own pace. By the end of this fantastic day you will have at least 2-3 items to take away or leave them with us to be fired and collected at a later date.
Please an apron, an old towel and a notebook if you wish.
Guidance will be on-hand at all times.
Accommodation is not included but if required it is available within the local area, some suggestions can be found on our 'local accommodation' page - please arrange this yourself. Refreshments are provided on the day but not lunches. Please bring your own drinking vessel for hygiene reasons.
Toilet and classroom all easily accessible from the car park
*Please bring a packed lunch, own drinking vessel & face mask*
Attendees must be over 16.
Please read our Covid19 / CORONA VIRUS INFORMATION before attending.
