Bronze Age flanged axe casting workshop Sunday 8th March 2026 10am - 4pm
*MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS 6*
On this workshop you will cast and decorate your own replica bronze flanged axehead.
Axes span the whole of the Bronze Age and change greatly in size and form over this period. Towards the end of the Early Bronze Age, flanged axes were being produced with slender profiles and expanded blades. These axes were essential tools for chopping wood for fuel, construction, crafting and for making other tools. They have been found in graves and in hoards suggesting they held a great value.
