Tablet Weaving workshop Saturday 27th September 10am-4pm
*MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS 6*
On this workshop with archaeologist Jalea Ward you will cover the history of tablet weaving and its uses.
With no experience necessary, you will learn the theory and practice of tablet weaving on individual looms ( will be provided), using wooden tablets and naturally dyed wool in a range of colours.
You will have enough wool to produce up to 2m of a woollen band in a choice of designs. The looms you will be using are inkle looms and you will be shown how to continue your project at home.
There will be textiles and heritage crafting equipment available to purchase on the day.
Accommodation is not included but if required it is available within the local area, some suggestions can be found on our 'local accommodation' page - please arrange this yourself.
Refreshments are provided on the day but not lunches.
Toilet and classroom all easily accessible from the car park.
