Bronze Age axehead workshop Saturday 11th June 10am - 4pm

*MAXIMUM NUMBER FOR THIS WORKSHOP IS 6*

Join professional reproductions bronze caster and master swords smith Neil Burridge to learn about bronze during the Bronze Age and cast your own palstave axehead.

Using a charcoal fuelled furnace and leather bellows, you will melt tin and copper and pour molten bronze to cast your own axehead in your prepared mould.

Many hoards from the late Bronze Age are proliferated with spears, swords and axes. These provide a fascinating window on this time in prehistory - both the sophisticated technology and the material culture.
