Basic herbal medicines workshop
The hedgerows are full of medicine as well as food. On this day workshop we will look at some common remedies for everyday complaints; preparing tinctures, ointments, oils, decoctions and tisanes which you can take home with you. Understanding these basic methods opens up a wide world of herbal medicine, homemade skincare and delicious wild teas. If you’re a gardener, you might be pleasantly surprised how many of the plants that find their way into the compost heap have a long history as foods or medicines, or how much of the hedgerow greenery you pass on a dog walk could offer a helping hand when you’re under the weather.
Understanding what nature can do for us is as important as understanding what we can do to help the natural world; it is absolutely key to rebuilding a relationship with the outdoors.
