Javelin making workshop - 14th September 2020
Learn to make your own Iron Age javelin. Guided by professional blacksmith and living historian, Thomas B Timbrell of Big Beynon's Blacksmithing, you will forge your very own javelin head from mild steel on a bellows operated forge. After completing the head, you will fit it to a wooden shaft and be taught about their use and effectiveness as well as receiving a crash course in javelin throwing. By the end of the course you will leave with your own javelin, made by yourself, and with the knowledge of how to practice with them safely.
