For the love of a dung beetle- restoring calcareous grassland - 29th November 2019 19:00
Entomologist, ecologist and livestock farmer Sally-Ann Spence FRES FLS will be talking about her research project based at Berrycroft Hub. An Honorary Associate of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and a co-founder of the Dung beetle UK Mapping Project (DUMP) Sally-Ann studies our native dung beetles, their ecosystem services and their impact on pastureland biodiversity. Whilst conserving beetles and creating the perfect micro habitat for them she has inadvertently started a large scale restoration of one of our most fragile habitats in the UK - a dry river bed calcareous grassland valley.
A glass of wine or a soft drink is included in the ticket price.
