Spoon carving workshop 23rd July 10am - 4pm
Spoon carving is a fantastic way to learn the basics of green wood carving. At the end of the day you will have made your own functional spoon to use everyday that is beautifully unique to you.
The day starts with a single log. You will cleave it down, use an axe to shape and finish with various knives to smooth and perfect your spoon.
A wonderful, tactile way to make something useful and beautiful.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
Previously a set builder at London's Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Charles Ash is now an artisan furniture maker. Using traditional methods and tools, he creates contemporary designs and innovative creations.
